Jenny Fong | Visual Effects Artist & Software Developer
Jenny has a background in both Computer Science and Art. She enjoys painting and developing user-friendly tools. She graduated from the University of Warwick with a degree in Computer Science. Her final year project was developing software to auto colour black and white portraits, using then facial recognition algorithms, developed in MatLab.
She started her career as a software developer, developing software for pharmaceutical companies in the UK. After working for a few years, to fulfil her dreams of working in an industry where Art meets Science, she saved enough money to further her study in 3D Computer Animation (MA) at Bournemouth University, UK. She began her feature film journey in Shanghai, where she worked for Oriental DreamWorks (later known as Pearl Studio). Her first feature film was Kung Fu Panda 3. After Oriental DreamWorks, she moved to New Zealand to work for Weta Digital. She had worked in pipeline development, as well as creating Visual Effects as Effects Technical Director on multiple feature films. As of 2021, she is developing a Houdini Pipeline for the Creatures Department.
She is fluent in Cantonese and English, a little rusty in Mandarin, she is passionate to pick up Japanese again in her spare time.
